This 3 day course combines both classroom lessons and on the water exercises and builds on the skills learned in Basic Keelboat Sailing. This course includes more advanced sail trim, boat handling skills, safety, seamanship, reefing, sail change, navigation, anchoring and much more.
You'll learn chart plotting, rule of the road, and man overboad drill, acting both as a skipper and a crew underway to destination.
Upon successful completion, you receive Basic Coastal Cruising Certification from the ASA and become qualified to charter on your own.
Prerequisite - Basic Keelboat or equivalent experience


Class in Okinawa meets Friday 1800-2000 at Ginowan marina and Saturday 0800 throghout to Sunday.

Classes in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya meet at 0900. Boat leaves homeport before noon and visit two different harbors duaring the round trip to home. Students stay at local Japanese hotel.

Prerequisite- Basic Keel Boat & experience as a skipper at the BCC level.

This 4 day course prepares you to charter boats to 50 feet on your own.  In this course you'll learn large boat handling skills and familiarization of ships systems with inboard diesel engines, multiple cabins, kitchens, toilets, nav equipt, etc. Stay overnight on the boat and become familiar with all onboard equipt. Includes motoring, docking, anchoring, cooking, entering an unfamiliar harbor, man overboard procedures, radio procedures and protocols.
You'll understand the responsibilities of skipper and crew, and what it is like staying aboard a sailing yacht for an extended period.  This course can be taken one of our school at Okinawa, Tokyo and Osaka.  This course includes two legs of night sailing.  Upon successful completion of this course you'll receive ASA certification for Bareboat Chartering.
